Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Tennessee is seeking a Nurse Supervisor (Clinical Staff Leader) for the Stepdown Unit nights. You will oversee safe patient care delivery, provide leadership and staff development, and ensure adherence to policies and quality standards.

The role involves interdisciplinary rounds, safety huddles, and collaboration with leadership to optimize operations and care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certification/licensure requirements for RN (LIC-Registered Nurse)
• 1 year of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's degree as education requirement

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical consultation and support to Stepdown Unit staff, overseeing clinical quality efforts.
• Collaborates with Unit Manager/Director to maintain quality care standards.
• Ensures availability of supplies, equipment, and inventory to minimize disruption.
• Develops staff through orientation and ongoing training with preceptor/educator teams.
• Assists physicians in procedures and provides first-standby support.
• Ensures accurate post-procedure documentation per unit protocols.
• Supervises and trains department staff; schedules and allocates resources.
• Participates in staffing planning and budget oversight.
