Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Clinical Staff Leader for the Stepdown Unit. This role oversees safe, effective patient care on a 21-bed telemetry unit with a 4:1 patient-to-staff ratio.

You will supervise staff, coordinate interdisciplinary rounds, and partner with the Stepdown Manager to uphold quality and safety standards. Required are RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• RN licensure and current BLS/ACLS/NIH certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in stepdown or acute care.
• Leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision for Stepdown Unit staff.
• Collaborate with Stepdown Manager/Director to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment; manage budget and cost control.
• Oversee staff development, orientation and ongoing training.
• Assist physicians during procedures and provide first-assist support when needed.
• Ensure accurate post-procedure documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Schedule staff to optimize resource use and coordinate with leadership on staffing.
