Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG1 Step Down Unit. The role involves direct and indirect patient care with a 3:1-4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a tele-monitored environment.

Shift is Day Shift (7am-7:30pm) with weekends, located at St. Mary Medical Center in a full-time capacity. Responsibilities include patient education, accurate documentation, interprofessional collaboration, pain management, and maintaining infection control standards.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active PA RN license.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of bedside experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs, readiness to learn and barriers; tailor education into daily activities.
• Document admission assessments, reassessments, plans, interventions and medication use; monitor outcomes.
• Use the information management system to communicate and document patient condition changes; prioritize tasks.
• Communicate transfer of patient responsibility at bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds.
• Recognize and address patient special needs and suspected abuse; refer as appropriate.
• Include pain management and supportive care in the care plan.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
