The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a STEMCAP Program Assistant to support youth-centered STEM and art programming at Utah youth centers.
You will help develop educational activities, coordinate materials, and assist with data collection while partnering with the STEMCAP team and outside presenters. This part-time role requires an Associate’s Degree, strong organization, and excellent written and oral communication.
Since 2016, the STEM Community Alliance Program (STEMCAP) has provided more than 1,100 educational workshops and hands‑on conservation projects at youth‑in‑custody facilities across northern Utah. STEMCAP offers a variety of programming types—including guest lectures led by scientists and artists, multi‑day science workshop series, art enrichment classes, horticulture projects, and field trips—across five youth centers, from Provo to Ogden.
STEMCAP partners with experts in Science, the Arts, and the Humanities to increase awareness of and interest in various career and academic pathways for incarcerated youth. STEMCAP enhances educational self‑discovery and provides creative outlets for youth participants. The STEMCAP Program Coordinator will create, lead, and join programming at youth centers and support partnerships across and beyond the University of Utah’s campus. With the team, they will develop educational programming, advise on material needs, and support data collection.

Work Schedule Summary: Monday to Friday, within the hours of 8–5. Rarely weekends or evenings, as needed.
