Job summary

Best of the Batch Foundation is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead STEAM-based and OST programs for K–12 students. The role blends direct youth engagement with logistics and data tracking, ensuring outcomes align with grant requirements and measurable impact. Work hours are 9am-5:30pm.

You will plan and deliver curricula, supervise sessions, manage materials, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations. Strong data skills and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Education/STEAM or Youth Development.
  • At least 2 years of experience in youth programs, preferably STEAM/OST.
  • Data tracking and reporting experience.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work some evenings/weekends and travel locally.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement STEAM curriculum and enrichment activities for K–12 students.
  • Coordinate OST programming including academic support, wellness, and career readiness.

Job description

The Program Coordinator will lead the design and day-to-day operations of STEAM-based and out-of-school time (OST) programs for K–12 students. This position blends direct youth engagement with behind-the-scenes logistics and data tracking. A key part of the role is ensuring programs align with measurable outcomes, meet grant requirements, and demonstrate meaningful impact for youth and the community. This job will be from 9am-5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Delivery

  • Design and implement engaging, hands-on STEAM curriculum and enrichment activities tailored to K–12 students.
  • Coordinate OST programming that includes academic support, creative exploration, wellness, and career readiness.
  • Schedule and supervise daily sessions, field trips, workshops, and special events.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to be age-appropriate and inclusive of diverse learning styles.

Youth Development & Supervision

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, fun, and positive learning environment.
  • Build rapport with students and serve as a mentor and role model.
  • Monitor student engagement, participation, and behavior, applying trauma-informed and youth development best practices.

Data, Evaluation, & Reporting

  • Collect and track key program data (outputs and outcomes) including attendance, assessments, surveys, and behavior observations.
  • Support the creation of reports for funders, board members, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure programs are aligned with grant deliverables and measurable objectives.
  • Use data to continuously improve program design and delivery.

Operations & Collaboration

  • Manage program materials, supplies, and classroom or lab environments.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers, guest instructors, and part-time staff.
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and STEAM professionals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, events, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, Arts, Youth Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience working in youth programs, preferably with STEAM or OST components.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, especially in out-of-school settings.
  • Experience with curriculum planning, lesson delivery, and classroom management.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in tracking program outputs and outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with data collection/reporting tools.
  • Willingness to work some evenings/weekends and travel locally.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment.
  • Familiarity with logic models, evaluation frameworks, or tools like Apricot or Salesforce.
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
