Job summary

Guilford College is seeking a Professional STEM Tutor to provide weekly drop-in hours and participate in STEM 911 sessions on campus in Greensboro, NC. You will work with peer tutors to develop effective strategies for students in STEM 911 and provide individualized skill-development support.

You will maintain accurate records for each session and meetings, respond to inquiries promptly, and participate in staff meetings and professional development when possible.

Responsibilities

• Participate in STEM 911 sessions.
• Work with peer tutors to develop and deliver appropriate strategies for the students who attend STEM 911.
• Provide individualized skill-development support to students.
• Complete accurate and up-to-date records for each STEM 911 session, as well as individual meetings with students.
• Respond to all LWC and student inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
• Participate in LWC staff meetings and professional development when possible.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, material, and discussions shared in the tutoring relationship.
• Develop a good understanding and knowledge of the Guilford College curriculum, academic calendar, campus services, supports, and resources, and make appropriate student referrals to college offices, departments, or professionals, when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
