  • Previous STEM teaching experience and comfort with project-based learning and robotics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned STEM instruction across multiple grade levels.
  • Develop engaging, hands-on, project-based learning experiences integrating STEM, art, and technology.
  • Foster curiosity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking in students.
  • Guide students through engineering design processes and real-world applications.
  • Integrate technology to enhance learning and maintain a safe, organized classroom.
  • Collaborate with faculty to support cross-curricular learning and faith-based education.

Job Summary

St. Cecilia School & Academy, a ministry of St. Cecilia Parish, is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and collaborative STEM Teacher to provide engaging instruction in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The STEM Teacher will create hands-on, project-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore, design, build, test, and solve real-world problems. This position fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and innovation while supporting the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of students. The STEM Teacher is committed to the mission of Catholic education and helps students recognize and develop their God-given gifts through meaningful learning experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned STEM instruction for multiple grade levels.
  • Develop engaging, hands-on, project-based learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
  • Foster student curiosity, creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Guide students through engineering design processes, problem-solving activities, and real-world applications of STEM concepts.
  • Integrate technology and educational tools into classroom instruction to enhance learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary and cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging STEM learning environment.
  • Teach and reinforce the safe and responsible use of technology, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Assess student learning and progress using a variety of instructional and assessment methods.
  • Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and student performance data.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration regarding student achievement and classroom activities.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities as required.
  • Support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church in all aspects of school life.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required.
  • Valid teaching certification preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in STEM, science, technology, or a related educational setting preferred.
  • Experience with project-based learning, robotics, coding, engineering design, makerspaces, or educational technology preferred.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and instructional skills.
  • Knowledge of STEM curriculum standards and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming, faith-filled learning environment.
  • Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
