Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis, headquartered at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO, seeks a faith-filled Catechist Aide at St.

Stephen Protomartyr Catholic School to support religious education and nurture students' spiritual growth within a Catholic learning community. You will collaborate with the Catechist and staff to prepare lessons, assist with Mass and sacramental preparation, maintain a faith-centered classroom, and help families engage in parish and school faith formation.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic who supports the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and learning needs.
• Previous experience in educational, parish, or ministry settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Catechist in preparing and implementing religion lessons, activities, and classroom discussions.
• Support students in the development of their faith through prayer, religious instruction, and participation in faith formation activities.
• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom management and student supervision during lessons and activities.
• Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and supplies as needed.
• Provide individual and small-group assistance to students to reinforce lesson objectives.
• Support sacramental preparation activities and other religious education programs.
• Assist with school Masses, prayer services, retreats, and other liturgical celebrations as assigned.
• Encourage appropriate student behavior consistent with Catholic values and school expectations.
• Communicate effectively with the Catechist and school staff regarding student needs and classroom activities.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and school information.
• Follow all school, Archdiocesan, and Safe Environment policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Catechist.

Job Summary

St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled and dedicated Catechist Aide to support the religious education program and assist in fostering the spiritual growth of students. The Catechist Aide works collaboratively with the Catechist and school staff to create a positive, faith-centered learning environment that promotes Catholic teachings, values, and traditions while supporting the mission of Catholic education.

• Successful completion of required background checks and Archdiocesan compliance requirements.
