Job summary

The University of Vermont in Burlington seeks a STEM Scholars Program Manager to lead a cohort-based learning community for STEM majors, promoting scholarly excellence and leadership.

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Academic Success, you will oversee daily operations, build inclusive student communities, provide direct student support, and coordinate year-round programming including a six-week Summer Bridge for incoming students.

Qualifications

Posting Summary

Lead a cohort-based learning community for STEM majors promoting scholarly excellence and leadership development to enable students to become change leaders in STEM fields. Report to the Director of the Center for Academic Success and serve as a member of the UVM HHMI Success in STEM grant team leadership team. Provide program leadership and manage day to day operations, build community, offer direct student support, cross-campus collaboration, and leadership development. Coordinate academic year programming and a six-week Summer Bridge experience for incoming students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience in STEM-based programs, residential or other cohort-based learning communities or similar programs supporting college student success
• Effective skills in program oversight and management, building welcoming and inclusive communities, student leadership development, educational program design and facilitation, communications and event planning and execution
• Facility with integration and effective use of digital platforms and tools and technologies

Anticipated Pay Range

$67,000-$69,000

• Contingent on continued funding
• Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime)
• This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions
