Job summary

Frost Science's UBMS program seeks an Academic Year Mentor to support Saturday Academy activities in Miami, FL. This part-time, temporary role involves delivering virtual hands-on science activities and guiding students through project-based learning under supervision of the UBMS Director.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a STEM field or near completion, at least two years of teaching and mentoring experience with diverse youth, and bilingual abilities (English and Spanish or Haitian

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or in late stages of obtaining said degree.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in formal or informal settings.
• Minimum 2 years of mentoring/coaching experience preferably with culturally diverse underserved student populations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a science and/or math course with hands-on activities and project-based learning.
• Communicate classroom and preparation needs with program staff in a timely manner.
• Serve as a mentor/role model to underserved high school youth.
• Help students produce and present projects to demonstrate their acquired science knowledge.
• Ensure students' safety during all activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
