Engineering for Kids of Las Vegas is seeking part-time instructors to lead hands-on engineering and technology projects for children aged 7–10. You will implement curricula in Aerospace, Marine, Mechanical, Chemical and Civil Engineering, plus CAD, Coding, Minecraft Engineering, and Video Game Design.
Curriculum and supplies are provided; online training and on-the-job coaching are offered.
As many days as you'd like between Monday-Friday.
Shift length: 2-6 hours
Hours available: usually between 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm depending on the school.
We expect this position to get between 5-15 hours per week regularly. We would start at the lower end of that range and gradually add in more hours per week as we add more classes for you to teach. If you'd like more hours, we can also schedule you to sub for classes at our learning center in the evenings as need arises.
Additional hours available Saturdays and on no-school days.
Payroll is every two weeks. Usually our Lead Instructors with no teaching experience start at: $15/hour, but we're willing to start at $17-20/hour for a new teacher with significant classroom management experience and science/engineering experience.
Lead hands-on engineering and technology projects to inspire problem-solving skills, collaboration, and creativity. Normal age groups will be ages 7-10. Teacher to student ratio is 1:16 or less. Curriculum and all supplies are provided. Online training materials and on the job training are provided. We specifically need both Engineering Instructors, to implement curriculum related to Aerospace, Marine, Mechanical, Chemical and Civil Engineering, and Technology Teachers, to teach CAD, Coding, Minecraft Engineering, Video Game Design.
Reliability, promptness, organization, communication, patience, ability to travel to and find the various locations of our classes, people skills, attention to detail. Instructors with experience/education in fields of science, education, math, technology are preferred.
