Job summary

Engineering For Kids in Bakersfield is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant S.T.E.M./Engineering Teacher to join our hands-on program. You’ll help deliver our STEM curriculum, assist with class preparation, and foster student engagement across after-school programs, camps and events.

Preferred candidates are college students studying Engineering or STEM with interest in robotics, coding or programming. Training is paid, and opportunities for growth are available as you support curious young minds.

Qualifications

• College students majoring in Engineering/STEM.
• Degrees and/or experience in Robotics, Coding, or programming.

Responsibilities

• Collect materials and return them to the designated storage areas.
• Support the Lead Teacher in preparing supplies at the beginning of a program.
• Encourage student involvement by ensuring warm-up activities and assisting students individually.
• Practice excellence in teaching when offering Engineering For Kids programs.
• Ensure classes operate smoothly by observing and recording data during student tests, managing supplies, and assisting in demonstrations.
• Provide appropriate instruction that considers the unique abilities of every student.
• Constantly strive to improve instruction through reflection and evaluation.
• Demonstrate initiative by seeking additional Engineering For Kids training and further education.

Primary Duties

• Support Engineering For Kids classes in a professional manner
• Be courteous and approachable to students, parents, and staff
• Follow policies of the franchise location which may include, but are not limited to, safety procedures and dress code
• Position is located at different schools in the Bakersfield.
• Min. 3 hours of pay per day
