iKids U is hiring STEM instructors to teach at elementary schools in Austin starting August 2026. Instructors will lead courses in Robotics, Chess, and Science, ensuring engaging and fun activities for students.

The role requires independent transportation and experience with children. Training in CPR/First Aid will be provided, along with a t-shirt. Pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour based on experience.

Job Overview

Pay & Hours

• Pay range $15.00 – $17.00 per hour, based on experience and availability.
• Work hours: 2:30 PM – 5 PM / 6 PM for 6 PM shift; 6–15 hours per week (no weekends).
• Weekly schedule follows the 2026-2027 Austin elementary calendar.

Responsibilities

Lead small group activities keeping fun a top priority. Teach structured crafts and activities based on a weekly theme. Manage specialized courses such as robotic kits (iKids Wee‑bots), chess, science, and more. Maintain a consistent, weekly teaching schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Reliable, independent transportation (multiple sites).
• Clear background and fingerprint checks (reimbursement provided).
• Experience working with children (babysitting, tutoring, monitoring, childcare).
• Maintain a consistent, weekly teaching schedule.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with children in a group setting (camps, workshops, coaching, child therapy, substitute teaching, teaching assistant, instructional assistant, floating teacher, etc.).

Training

Instructor training and certifications in CPR/First Aid are provided, along with an iKids T‑shirt.
