Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay seeks energetic team members for the Y-Kids Program, a structured before and after school initiative in Mt. Diablo area (Pleasant Hill, CA). You will guide activities, foster STEM-oriented learning, and help children grow through hands‑on education and safe play.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AA or BA preferred.
• 12 ECE units as required by CA state licensing.
• At least 1 year of experience in a professional child care or school‑aged program.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pre‑employment health screening and TB clearance; Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificates (total of 15 hours health and safety training) or completed within 90 days of hire.
• LiveScan fingerprint and criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum within established guidelines and prepare supplies for activities.
• Work cooperatively with all staff to ensure program quality.
• Provide direction to Assistant Teachers/Teacher's Aides as needed.
• Promote child development and enrichment aligned with YMCA values.
• Ensure health and safety of children; provide first aid when needed and report incidents.
