Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Ramanathan lab in stem cell biology and human development. You will coordinate projects, perform tissue formation using multiple stem cell lines, and handle genetic modifications under minimal direction.

Responsibilities include data analysis, collaboration on protocols, and potential training of new lab members. The role is located on campus in Cambridge, MA with standard 35-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
• 3+ years of biological research experience, including human stem cell work.
• Experience with stem cell maintenance, passaging, and differentiation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate research projects and perform lab experiments using standard techniques.
• Manufacture cortical tissue from multiple stem cell lines including IPS, embryonic, and GMP lines.
• Perform genetic modifications and maintain parental and modified lines.
• Assist with mouse work, breeding, and related surgeries as needed.
• Collaborate on experimental design and develop new laboratory methods.
• Analyze data and report results with appropriate software tools.
• May train or supervise others in lab techniques.
• Maintain equipment and manage supplies and vendor relationships.
