Job summary

DSST Public Schools is seeking candidates for the STEM Apprentice Teacher Program in Denver, CO. This year-long residency funds licensure coursework and provides a full-time salary, benefits, and coaching, with a commitment to teach at DSST for two additional years after residency if hired as Lead Teacher.

Position is full-time and in-person (Denver area) with July 2026 start; salary during residency is $48,000, and Lead Teacher salary ranges from $60,000–$82,000 in year two, plus relocation

Qualifications

• A completed Bachelor’s Degree (any major) prior to start date.
• Passion for Math, Science, or other STEM-related subjects.
• Desire to grow professionally as an anti-racist educator.
• Self-awareness, reflective practice, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to commit fully to an in-person, full-time residency and licensure program.

Responsibilities

• Learn, practice, and reflect with the support of a DSST Mentor Teacher and a network of educators.
• Observe, support, and co-teach alongside a Mentor Teacher within DSST classrooms.
• Take on increasing responsibility for lesson planning, instruction, assessment, and classroom management over time, with the goal of leading a classroom in year two.
