Job summary

Lucid Motors, headquartered in Newark, CA, is seeking a Technical Specialist in Steering Systems Controls and Integration to develop and calibrate control systems for electric power steering across multiple programs. You will collaborate with Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Dynamics, and ADAS teams, and work with external suppliers to prototype software in virtual, HiL, and vehicle environments.

The role requires 7+ years in automotive steering control, hands-on prototype development, and familiarity

Qualifications

• 7+ years of automotive experience.
• Strong experience in development and delivery of steering control systems.
• Experience with Vector tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CDMStudio, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Vehicle Dynamics theory.
• Hands-on practical experience in prototype development.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence and requirements management tools.
• Familiarity with software development (Matlab/Python/CAPL scripting, model based).
• Ability to read and work with electrical schematics, with sound understanding of electrical communication principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the requirements and specifications for electric power steering control systems from initial concept to SOP for multiple vehicle programs
• Work with internal teams such as Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Dynamics and ADAS, as well as external suppliers, to design, build, deliver, test and calibrate prototype software in virtual, HiL and vehicle environments
• Create, execute and document system level design validation plans including virtual, HiL and vehicle-based activity to take your concepts and prototype software to customer readiness
• Work across multiple complex projects in a demanding environment
• Travel domestically and internationally as required
