Job summary

Continuum Resource Network is seeking a Firmware Validation Engineer - Brake & Steering to support the development, validation, and release of brake and steering control firmware in partnership with Tier 1 suppliers.

You will manage subsystem requirements, coordinate validation and regression testing, and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure performance, quality, and release milestones are met.

Qualifications

BS or MS in engineering or a related field with 6+ years of automotive experience.
Strong debugging skills for hardware, software, and firmware.
Experience with automotive actuator controls and validation methods.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain brake and steering subsystem specifications with suppliers and internal teams.
Create and execute validation plans, regression tests, and ensure firmware changes meet milestones.
Lead firmware defect resolution and impact assessments across teams.
Develop and support diagnostic scripts and tools for system testing and validation.

Job description

We are helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Firmware Validation Engineer - Brake & Steering to support the development, validation, and release of brake and steering control firmware in partnership with Tier 1 suppliers.

In this role, you'll manage subsystem requirements, coordinate firmware validation and regression testing, and drive firmware issues through resolution to meet critical engineering milestones. You'll work closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure brake and steering control systems meet performance, quality, and release requirements.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive controls and validation, with hands-on experience troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and firmware issues. You are highly collaborative, technically driven, and comfortable working with suppliers and engineering teams to drive issues through resolution.

As a Firmware Validation Engineer - Brake & Steering, you'll:

Develop and maintain brake and steering subsystem technical specifications in collaboration with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
Partner with suppliers to develop and adapt validation plans, execute regression testing, and ensure firmware changes meet program and release milestones.
Lead firmware defect resolution and impact assessments, working across architecture and systems engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues.
Develop and support diagnostic scripts and tools used for system testing and validation.
Collaborate with cross-functional experts across mechatronics, robotics, computer vision, and AI to support system integration and continuous improvement.

BS or MS in engineering or a related field and 6+ years of experience within the automotive or similar industry
Track record debugging ambiguous, multi-faceted problems involving hardware, software, and firmware.
Experience with automotive actuator controls & validation methods
Experience with the implementation of various test methodologies and developing and operating HIL test assets
Knowledge of automotive program development, release processes, and long-term schedule planning
