Job summary

Ford Motor Company is hiring for a Vehicle Hardware Engineer focused on steering systems. You will manage supplier technical development, review CAD models and engineering specs, and drive FMA and reliability documentation while coordinating with CAE/NVH/Dynamics teams.

The role requires an engineering degree and automotive steering experience, with a hybridwork setup onsite most days. Salary bands vary by grade; benefits include comprehensive medical coverage and a strong emphasis on design

Qualifications

• BSME, BSEE, or similar engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• 2 years of automotive steering systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage steering component suppliers, including technical development and RFQ support.
• Review, release and maintain 2D & 3D CAD models and Engineering Specifications.
• Develop and maintain foundational standards and processes (DFMEA/FUSA, SDS Requirements, Functional Specifications, Design Rules, Interface Drawings, Test Methods).
• Deliver program timing, cost, weight and quality targets.
• Develop Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and Reliability documentation.
• Support vehicle CAE, NVH, Dynamics and Safety teams as needed.
• Hybrid work arrangement with onsite four or more days per week.
