Job summary

General Motors is seeking a proactive Steering System Design Release Engineer to lead the development and release of steering components across GM platforms. You will coordinate PDT activities, manage design integration, and drive rigorous DFMEAs and design reviews to ensure safety, performance, and quality.

You will collaborate with purchasing, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams while guiding suppliers for flawless execution and timely milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with CAD tools.
• Experience in design release and system integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Development Team for steering system components.
• Manage design release and integration into GM systems with precision and timeliness.
• Complete ICDs, DFMEAs, and Peer Reviews on time.
• Oversee pre-production builds and ensure readiness to program milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with purchasing, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams.
