Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. seeks a Supplier Quality Assurance professional to uphold quality across supplier interactions, drive corrective actions, and monitor performance. The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, containment, and continuous improvement in an automotive manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating supplier sorts, documenting KPIs, and training teams. Travel ~10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience investigating quality problems and applying technical judgement.
• Experience designing and implementing Corrective Actions for process escapes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, stamping, forging, etc.) and assembly plant processes.
• Understanding of IATF and AIAG core tools requirements including customer requirements.
• 5+ years in automotive component manufacturing; APQP, PSO, PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA.
• Experience presenting technical/project information to teams, management and customers.
• Experience applying SPC methods to analyze data and evaluate processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience developing/maintaining supplier relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of leading improvement teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates integrity and accountability in performance.
• Experience developing work processes to improve team/customer outcomes.
• Travel approx. 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe working environment by complying with safety and environmental policies.
• Represents the company to suppliers and manages supplier relationships.
• Analyzes supplier performance indicators and reports findings.
• Contains suspect materials not meeting specifications.
• Coordinates supplier component sorts to identify non-conforming parts.
• Identifies root causes of non-conformities and verifies corrective actions.
• Tracks costs related to supplier complaints and manages chargebacks.
• Facilitates mistake-proofing and continuous improvement at supplier locations.
• Manages problem investigations and countermeasures with proper tools.
• Conducts occasional quality training internally or at supplier sites.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Travel as needed (approx. 10%).
