Kinsley Steel, Inc. in York, PA is seeking a Co-Op Welder to perform welding on structural steel per WPS, read drawings, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will handle fit-up verification, basic equipment setup, and help maintain production throughput while adhering to PPE guidelines; enrollment in a PA technical school co-op program is required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an approved PA Technical School Co-Op Program.
• Must pass 3G flux-core weld test; experience with D1.1 and 2G/3G welds.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Willingness to learn.

Summary

The Co-Op Welder performs structural steel welding operations in accordance with approved welding procedures, shop drawings, and quality requirements. This position is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality welds while maintaining safety, productivity, and housekeeping standards.

Daily Responsibilities

• Perform welding on structural steel components.


• Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and weld symbols.


• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).


• Complete fit-up verification prior to welding.


• Perform basic equipment setup and maintenance.


• Maintain production quality and throughput standards.


• Follow all safety requirements and PPE guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an approved PA Technical School Co-Op Program.


• Must be able to pass a 3G weld test with 1/16th flux core wire and have applicable experience with D1.1 codes and 2G/3G experience.


• Experience operating overhead cranes.


• Have a willingness to learn.


• Ability to interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
