Wheatland Tube at Zekelman Industries, Rochelle, IL, is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support distribution by picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe. You will operate standard warehouse equipment under supervision, focusing on safety, accuracy, and quality.

The role requires 2+ years of warehouse experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math for accurate order processing.
• Strong communication skills to support collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving skills to address day-to-day warehouse challenges.
• High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment.
• Process and fulfill orders for customers and internal teams.
• Pick, pack, and stage orders while verifying accuracy using scanning tools.
• Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.
• Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, reporting damages as required.
• Replenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory using reach trucks or forklifts.
• Operate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently.
• Standardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
• Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
