Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Construction Laborer / Warehouse Loader for Troy, MI. The role involves safely loading and staging heavy metal materials in a steel warehouse, using sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, with measurements to 1/8 inch.

Work 2nd or 3rd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm or 11:00 pm–7:00 am) with potential overtime after training. This contract-to-hire position offers benefits and weekly pay in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately (1/8 inch increments).
• At least 1 year of sit-down forklift experience in warehouse/construction/production.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Experience with material handling in industrial/warehouse settings.
• Comfort in a heavy-duty industrial environment with steel materials and large equipment.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm or 11:00 pm–7:00 am).
• Commitment to safety procedures and PPE, including steel-toe footwear.
• Basic production/construction experience involving measurement and machine operation support.

Responsibilities

• Load and move metal materials from the warehouse to saw operators using sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Transport finished products from the saw area to shipping/receiving for delivery prep.
• Assist saw operating department by loading materials, measuring lengths, and cutting to size.
• Use tape measure precisely for cuts and material handling.
• Handle and move heavy materials safely following procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in warehouse and production floor.
• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear.
• Work 2nd or 3rd shifts with overtime as trained, including occasional Saturdays.
• Communicate with saw operators, shipping/receiving staff, and team members to coordinate flow.
• Inspect equipment before use and report issues promptly.
