Job summary

GPAC partners with a reputable steel fabrication and erection company to recruit a skilled Steel Project Manager who will oversee projects from contract award through final installation.

The role requires coordinating with clients, engineers, detailers, fabrication teams and field crews while ensuring safety, quality, and contractual compliance. This direct-hire position offers long-term career potential and a strong project pipeline.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years managing projects in steel fabrication/erection.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Proficient in project management software and construction tools (Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Fabtrol).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of structural and miscellaneous steel projects (stairs, railings, catwalks, platforms).
• Primary contact between clients, engineers, detailers, fabrication teams and field crews.
• Oversee timelines, budgets, material procurement and subcontractor coordination.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure alignment with scope and deliverables.
• Track progress, resolve issues and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with estimating and detailing teams for change orders and revisions.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and contractual requirements.
