Job summary

CF&I Steel, L.P. in Pueblo, CO seeks a Steel Production Worker to operate and support the production and finishing mills in a large steel plant. Candidates must demonstrate safety focus and may work with various equipment including cranes and conveyors.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, coordinating with mill personnel, and performing routine maintenance while adapting to indoor/outdoor conditions. 18+ years old, HS diploma preferred; valid license preferred for some roles.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tools used for industrial purposes.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing processes and heavy industry.
• Ability to safely operate tools, machinery and equipment; 12 months experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Observe safety rules and lockout procedures.
• Operate machines, mobile equipment, cranes and conveyors as required.
• Coordinate with mill personnel to maintain production and safety.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist maintenance personnel.
• Notify supervision of abnormal job or equipment conditions.
• Ensure inspection reports are completed and submitted.
• Work may be reassigned to other mills per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions; extreme heat/cold and high noise.
