Job summary

Triple-S Steel is seeking a Production Equipment Operator to read and execute work orders, move steel safely, and operate equipment. The role requires adherence to safe methods, the ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads, and continuous attention to safety in all weather and site conditions.

Qualifications

• Must read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine tasks.
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels.
• Ability to plan and organize work independently; work solo or in a team.
• Knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Ability to maintain inter-department communications on routing, safety and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Methods of Work at all times and report unsafe conditions.
• Safely move steel to/from storage, production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles using forklift, overhead crane or by hand.
• Lift up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet; exert 25–50 pounds of force frequently and 10–20 pounds constantly.
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads.
• Configure load based on planned route with multiple stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailers while maintaining safety.
