Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in York, PA is seeking a Full Time Machine Operator to set up and run equipment to process steel. You will operate state-of-the-art machines, measure and verify materials, and ensure safety and quality during daily production.

Applicants should be able to read CAD drawings, use a tape measure to 1/16", and identify steel types. Experience with CNC machines, brake presses, or overhead cranes is preferred. Two shifts are available with a $3.00/hour differential on second shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to read CAD drawings, symbols and notes.
• Read tape measure to within 1/16 inch.
• Stand for prolonged periods.
• Identify different types and weights of steel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Professional and customer-centric mindset.
• Experience with CNC machines and/or brake press preferred.
• Experience with overhead crane preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment to process steel.
• Select correct machine settings for burning, drilling and processing.
• Measure materials to match design specifications.
• Choose material type, stock size and dimensions as required.
• Transfer data onto materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Keep accurate records of daily operations and materials usage.
