Job summary

RK Industries, a Colorado-based manufacturing and fabrication company, is seeking a Production Planner to optimize CAD/FAB sequencing and daily schedules for the fabrication shop. The role collaborates with Project Managers, Shop personnel, and Field staff to ensure quality and on-time delivery while respecting budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow guidance effectively.
• Proven track record of contributing to the development and improvement of operational concepts, techniques, and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage tasks within a defined scope and adhere to established procedures.
• Collaborative team player with experience working under general supervision in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in industry-specific tools, technologies, and methodologies relevant to planning and manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and initiative in problem-solving, with the ability to make well-informed recommendations

Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Planning Manager in ensuring that the CAD/FAB process results in a product that meets or exceeds the customer's requirements.
• Assist the Production Planning Manager with the daily Production Planning of work orders.
• Set up the scheduling of material procurement, processing of material, fabrication and painting of structural & miscellaneous steel.
• Assist in the maintenance of Global Shop Solutions scheduling software database.
• Supervise and coordinate material procurement with purchasing to meet requirements of fabrication sequence plans based on construction schedules and shop requirements.
• Interpret specifications and blueprints as needed for recommended processes, improvements, and potential cost impacts.
