Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. is seeking an Operator 2 in Arkansas to operate advanced manufacturing equipment and move railcar parts and sub-assemblies. The role includes using forklifts and overhead cranes and reading welding drawings to ensure accurate production.

You will work in a production environment with emphasis on safety and equipment maintenance, contributing to on-time delivery and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructions.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Ability to obtain in-house forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Operates advanced equipment including welding machines, plasma cutting tools, gouging machines, shears, Submerged Arc Seamers and CNC Plasma Tables.
• Operates forklift and overhead cranes to move material into position to produce railcar parts and sub-assemblies.
• Ensures that equipment is maintained and operating properly before beginning work.
• Reads and comprehends blueprints or weld drawings and procedures.
• Guides Operator 1, as needed, in various production activities.
• Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.
