Job summary

Canam is seeking a Laborer for second shift (Mon-Thu 4:30PM–5:00AM) to join the production team. You will perform drilling, cutting, bending, welding, and material handling, with training provided.

The role involves reading shop drawings, operating basic machinery, and maintaining safety in a loud shop environment. The position requires the ability to work independently and with a team, English proficiency, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and speak English.
• High school graduate or GED (preferred).
• Experience in structural steel operations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate magnetic drills.
• Torque bolts.
• Grind steel products using grinders.
• Operate cutting and heating torches.
• Layout, position, align, and fit together the fabricated parts of structural components according to shop drawings.
• Tack welding.
• Unload raw materials and load finished steel products with forklift (requires training and certification).
• Trash and scrap removal; general cleaning and housekeeping in the shop.
• Handle, move and turn production materials with overhead cranes.
• Stud weld and operate a stud welding machine.
