Job summary

Schwisow Construction, Inc. in Lincoln, NE is seeking experienced steel erectors to join our field team. You will work on commercial projects building and installing steel beams, bracing, decking, columns and frames.

Candidates should be able to erect steel structures at height, operate lifts, telehandlers, cranes and rigging, and follow safety procedures including PPE and fall protection. Strong communication with clients, engineers, and subcontractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience erecting conventional steel and pre-engineered buildings preferred
• Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs on occasional basis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with clients, engineers, and subcontractors
• Proven track record of safety leadership, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment

Responsibilities

• Build and install steel beams, bracing, decking, columns, and other construction materials
• Erect steel frames, able to work heights
• Experience working in surroundings and with equipment that promotes safe work practices and use of fall protection, and all PPE
• Experience working with lifts, telehandler, crane and rigging preferred but not required
• Make good productive decisions without constant supervision
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner with respect to self and others
• Participate in all required safety activities and wear required protective equipment (PPE)
• Performs other duties as assigned
