Job summary

JGM is seeking an experienced Safety Manager with steel erection experience to support safety programs across multiple job sites nationwide. This role reports to the Health & Safety Manager and helps strengthen JGM’s safety culture across offices, fabrication operations, and active field projects.

Some projects may require full-time, onsite support in various states. Responsibilities include audits, subcontractor oversight, training, incident investigations, and developing site-specific safety

Qualifications

• Hands-on safety experience in steel erection operations.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations, safety plans, and drawings.
• Strong math skills and data interpretation.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to fit-test and use PPE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety audits at fabrication shops and field sites.
• Audit subcontractors and prepare detailed safety reports.
• Represent JGM with owners, client reps, and regulatory agencies.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead new hire orientations and safety training.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-misses.
• Develop site-specific safety plans per OSHA/MSHA/EM-385/DOT/USACE/EPA standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
