Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc. in the United States is seeking an on-site Crane Operator to move and process steel coils, sheets, and bundles, ensure safe handling, and maintain clean work areas.

You will load/unload on trucks and railcars, perform crane inspections, and coordinate with operators to optimize material flow. The role requires reading work orders, inventory labels, and safety instructions, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of overhead crane experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or steel service environment.
• Knowledge of rigging practices, load charts and material handling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, inventory labels and safety instructions.
• Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory and shipping systems (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead bridge cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to move, load, and unload steel coils, sheets, and bundles.
• Load and unload trucks and railcars per shipping/receiving schedules.
• Perform daily crane inspections and complete safety checklists.
• Maintain material identification and ensure accurate placement per inventory system.
• Communicate with machine operators, loaders, and supervisors to coordinate material flow.
• Follow safety rules, OSHA regulations, and best practices for rigging and load securement.
