Job summary

MDS Staffing represents a client in the steel processing and distribution sector seeking an Account Manager / Sales Representative for the Lordstown, Ohio area. You will own an account portfolio, grow relationships, manage demand and pricing, and actively pursue new opportunities to drive profitable, long-term growth.

The role requires bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, outside sales or account management background, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in account management, outside sales, or customer-facing roles.
• Steel industry experience is strongly preferred or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with an established base of customer accounts.
• Identify, pursue, and develop new customers and profitable business opportunities.
• Serve as primary contact for customers and understand their business, products and needs.
• Plan and conduct customer visits, sales calls, presentations, and commercial discussions.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, terms and other commercial factors.
• Monitor customer requirements and coordinate inventory levels to support demand.
• Collaborate with purchasing, operations and internal teams to meet customer expectations.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and communicate market changes.
• Share sales and purchasing intelligence with leadership and stakeholders.
• Monitor account performance focusing on profitable, sustainable growth.
• Manage company resources and business expenses responsibly.
• Travel to customer locations and other business destinations as needed.
