Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking an entry-level General Utility Worker in its Gas Operations group. You will perform field work to support gas distribution maintenance, inspections, and emergency response, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role requires physical endurance, outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to read blueprints and operate various tools. DOT-regulated with pre-employment checks and potential CMV duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Must pass pre-employment checks and follow DOT regulations.

Responsabilités

• Enter customer premises to provide service and maintain customer relations.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safety-sensitive posture.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle and tools for gas/electrical tasks.
• Work outdoors in all weather, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Assist with constructing, maintaining, and repairing gas/steam/electrical systems.
• Read and apply blueprints and sketches to tasks using hand and power tools.
• Perform physically demanding tasks and may operate CMVs when needed.
• Comply with DOT regulations and random drug testing requirements.
