Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Network Effects Engineer to perform advanced research, development, and test & evaluation of communications systems and network technologies for stealthy, resilient operations in denied environments.

You will develop and qualify network capabilities, design threat-representative topologies, deploy automation tools for T&E, and collaborate with mission partners while mentoring teams. A security clearance is required or eligible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in EE/CS/CE/Cybersecurity or related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience in network engineering, coding, or T&E.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, C/C++, or Rust.
  • Comfort using Linux and network analysis tools such as Wireshark.
  • Strong communication and teamwork; able to work independently and in teams.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% for field testing and integration.
  • Eligible to obtain Interim Top Secret clearance; may obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and qualify an evolving portfolio of network and comms capabilities.
  • Design, build, and orchestrate threat-representative network topologies and SD communications.
  • Develop and deploy software automation and analytical tools for T&E.
  • Collaborate with mission partners to translate challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Mentor technical teams to deliver robust clandestine capabilities.
