Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD seeks an experienced Network Software Engineer to design, develop, and test networked software for government systems, including secure communications and distributed services.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement protocols, optimize performance in challenging environments, and deliver capabilities for decision makers and warfighters, while adhering to rigorous security requirements and DevOps practices.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• At least five years of experience developing software systems, ideally in Linux.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, routing, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Rust, or Bash scripting.
• Experience debugging networked systems using tcpdump, Wireshark, netstat, or ss.
• Must be U.S. citizen and eligible for security clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to design, development, integration, and test of networked software for government applications.
• Architect and implement secure communications and networking systems.
• Lead development for command and control and distributed networking capabilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and sponsors to address hard problems.
• Document work in technical reports and present results to sponsors.
