Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to provide leadership in systems design, requirements analysis, and risk assessment for strategic deterrent programs. You will coordinate cross-functional integration, work with prime contractors, and communicate technical positions to senior government leadership.

The role focuses on integrated hardware and software in RF/EM domains, supporting DoD and IC missions. A Security clearance is required; travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years in systems engineering for complex systems.
• Strong in concept development, requirements, design, and risk assessment.
• Experience with test plans, field tests, data analysis, and test reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to lead teams.
• Willing to travel periodically; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering thought leadership and design expertise across cross-functional teams.
• Lead integration activities across domains and participate in reviews and milestones.
• Evaluate system fulfillment against stakeholder needs and government requirements.
• Collaborate with prime contractors and partners on systems engineering activities.
• Develop technical positions, risk assessments, and trade studies for leadership.
• Produce formal engineering artifacts and reports integrating concepts, requirements, and analyses.
