Job summary

The Mint Gaming Hall in Kentucky is seeking a dedicated kitchen cook to support all kitchen stations. You will follow recipes precisely, maintain quality, and participate in ongoing training to master every recipe.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, cook experience, and must pass background checks. Shifts include day, swing, late-night, weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Cook experience necessary.
• Fine dining cook or kitchen experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Kentucky gaming license.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of all kitchen workstations.
• Follow recipes, measurements, quantities, and other information so each menu item can be duplicated consistently.
• Participate in training and learn every recipe while ensuring adherence to recipes.
• Uphold standard kitchen operating procedures consistently.
• Ensure prep items and recipes meet approved standards.
• Break down prep areas and store products properly after each shift.
• Inspect food prep and serving areas for safe, sanitary handling practices.
• Position, arrange, and garnish foods according to recipe.
• Collect food requisitions from commissary as directed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of all kitchen workstations.
• Follow recipes, measurements, quantities, and other information so each menu item can be duplicated consistently.
• Actively participate in training, become familiar with each recipe, and ensure recipe adherence.
• Uphold the standard kitchen operating procedures on a consistent basis.
• Ensure all prep items and recipes are made to approved standards.
• Breakdown prep areas at the end of each meal period and ensure proper product storage.
• Inspect food preparation, and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices.
• Position, arrange, and garnish food according to recipe.
• Collect food requisitions from commissary as directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• Cook experience necessary.
• Fine dining cook or kitchen experience, preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
• Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
