Job summary

The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Kentucky is seeking a dedicated cook to work across all kitchen stations, follow recipes, and maintain consistent food preparation.

You will uphold SOPs, manage prep items to standard, and participate in ongoing training while supporting a safe, sanitary kitchen environment. Must be 18+, pass background checks, and be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. A Kentucky gaming license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Cook experience necessary.
• Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of all kitchen workstations.
• Follow recipes, measurements, quantities, and other information so each menu item can be duplicated consistently.
• Actively participate in training, become familiar with each recipe, and ensure recipe adherence.
• Uphold the standard kitchen operating procedures on a consistent basis.
• Ensure all prep items and recipes are made to approved standards.
• Breakdown prep areas at the end of each meal period and ensure proper product storage.
• Inspect food preparation, and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices.
• Position, arrange, and garnish food according to recipe.
• Collect food requisitions from commissary as directed.
