Job summary

Essent Group Ltd. in Columbia, MO is seeking a Statutory Accounting Manager to lead daily statutory accounting functions, develop policies, and drive reporting tools for trend analysis.

The role requires strong leadership and GAAP knowledge with a focus on regulatory compliance and cross-functional collaboration. The position is fully in-office in Columbia, MO, with responsibilities including investment accounting coordination and timely statutory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics or related field required.
• 3+ years of statutory accounting experience; GAAP experience encouraged as training will be provided.
• 3+ years in a leadership role with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of GAAP and public accounting regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily statutory accounting functions and develop accounting policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools and KPIs to analyze expenses, spending, headcount, and risks/opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends, products, and regulatory changes to adjust plans.
• Oversee investment accounting with third-party providers, treasury, and group accounting for accurate portfolios and filings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
