Job summary

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a skilled supervisor to coordinate boiler room maintenance and repair activities across hospital facilities in New Jersey.

The role includes routine inspections, supervising projects, and leading staff within one or more disciplines of the Power Plant department. The position oversees operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, VFDs, air compressors, fuel storage, and emergency generators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five to seven years of related work experience.
• Red Seal (Gold Seal) Stationary Engineers License required; Blue Seal Refrigeration License preferred; Confined Space Certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record per SJH policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate boiler room maintenance and repair activities performed by Power Plant staff.
• Routinely inspect hospital properties to identify system or equipment problems.
• Supervise special projects or shutdowns within the hospital complex as directed.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of all boilers and related auxiliary equipment; manage electric and steam chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.
