The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME, seeks a Stationary Engineer II to operate and maintain high‑pressure boilers, steam turbines, chillers, incinerators, and related systems in a 24/7 environment supporting data centers and sensitive research facilities. Responsibilities include monitoring instrumentation, maintaining water chemistry, using CMMS for documentation, and providing after‑hours coverage.

Requires 3+ years of experience; State of Maine Third Class Stationary Engineer or higher;

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in stationary/plant engineering or related field.
• State of Maine Third Class Stationary Engineer or higher.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Operates, cleans, and maintains high‑pressure boilers, steam turbines, chillers, incinerators, power generation and distribution systems, and related equipment.
• Monitors plant instrumentation and records operating data for reliability and compliance.
• Proactively identifies trends and responds to abnormal conditions to maintain efficiency.
• Tests and controls water chemistry in boilers and chillers for safe operation.
• Uses CMMS to document maintenance, generate reports, and complete checklists.
• Provides after‑hours coverage and coordinates with on‑call personnel as needed.
• Stands rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
