Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an opportunity for a Stationary Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD. This role reports to the Chief Engineer and the Customer’s Representative, taking immediate action on emergencies and overseeing maintenance of boilers, chillers and other mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Must have Maryland 1st Class license.
• Minimum five years field experience in commercial mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electric and fire protection systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reports and forms.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and BAS control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance of large, complex mechanical systems.
• EPA universal refrigeration certificate (state/US EPA approved) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee corrective maintenance per contract specifications.
• Operate boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and related system components.
• Respond to service requests and advise the Project Manager of actions and issues.
• Respond immediately to emergencies and coordinate with supervisor when needed.
• Implement maintenance programs and shift responsibilities as assigned.
• Ensure accurate operating logs and maintenance forms are completed and submitted.
• Control, audit, and oversee spare parts and tools usage.
• Take on additional duties within contractual scope as required.
• Overtime and shift work may be required.
• Safely and proficiently use related hand and power tools.
