Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• At least two years’ Stationary Engineering experience in an environment with boilers and steam.
• Possess and maintain an active Maryland 1st Class Stationary Engineer License or equivalent in good standing.
• Demonstrate competency performing identified job duties and responsibilities.
• Ability and willing to work other shifts as needed.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
• Ability to pass pre‑hire background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and associated systems to ensure safe, efficient service.
• Take tours of equipment areas, read meters, and adjust controls for safe operation.
• Monitor system conditions and adjust to meet service demands.
• Identify and repair system breakdowns, replace parts, and overhaul equipment as needed.
• Generate reports and logs of repairs and maintenance work.
• Complete work activities timely and accurately.
• Provide emergency site response for system issues.
• Manage stock inventories and requisition materials.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.
• Support other departments in daily operations as required.
• Follow safety, personnel and policy guidelines; work overtime if needed.
