SUMMARY:
The Station Manager oversees and supports daily airport station operations. The person in this position will lead the team with a focus on safety, security, efficiency, and providing exceptional customer service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all aspects of airline station operations.
- Demonstrate leadership by maintaining a positive attitude, working with integrity, appreciating employees and customers as individuals, promoting employee development and inclusion, recognizing others, striving for job excellence, building relationships, showing kindness, and aligning with overall company goals.
- Communicate timely and responsibly with all departments and management.
- Promote staff development.
- Maintain positive relationships with the local airport authority, agencies, and contract carriers.
- Manage station staffing levels and budget.
- Ensure all employees meet initial and recurrent training requirements.
- Interview prospective employees with HR.
- Conduct performance reviews and station performance planning.
- Ensure excellent customer service and efficient station operations.
- Attend regular corporate meetings in Hyannis via telephone or travel as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience in budgeting, interviewing, disciplinary actions, performance planning, payroll, and scheduling required.
- Experience building and maintaining airport regulatory relationships required.
- Ability to enforce policies and procedures required.
- Willingness to travel short and long distances and work non-standard hours, especially during special events.
- Understanding of how daily tasks connect to the overall mission.
- Proficient in writing with good grasp of English grammar.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- Effective interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel.
- Genuine desire to serve customers, build relationships, and work collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task in stressful environments.
- Must meet basic qualifications of station agents: at least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license if required, able to lift up to 70 lbs., basic computer skills.
- Flexibility in schedule; willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of Cape Air and embodying the Cape Air MOCHA HAGoTDI spirit.
