Job summary

Pilgrim in Minnesota is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance department in plant operations. You will assist with repairs, operate power tools, and contribute to preventative maintenance while communicating with other mechanics and teams.

Ideal candidates have basic math skills, ability to read/write/speak English, and a mechanical aptitude; two years in maintenance is preferred, with flexibility to work weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to pass a Prove It test.
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools.
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
• Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 5s policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.
