Job summary

Pilgrim’s Cold Spring Plant is seeking a Station Mechanic for the day shift to join our maintenance team. This role supports the maintenance department with plant upkeep, repairs, and routine preventive maintenance, contributing to safe and reliable production operations.

You will perform repairs, operate power tools, and communicate across maintenance and operations. Weekend work may be required; safety is a core priority in this role.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division and percentages.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to pass a Prove It test.
• Two years’ experience in maintenance preferred.
• Work with minimal direct supervision.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and tool experience.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintain clear communication with other mechanics and departments.
• Support station mechanic and operator functions of machinery.
• Use electrical testing equipment effectively.
• Identify improvement opportunities and report to supervisor.
• Perform routine PMs on equipment with minimal supervision.
• Keep shop clean and organized per 5S policies.

SHIFT: MONDAY- SATURDAY 6:30AM-4:30PM

LOCATION: COLD SPRING PLANT

PAY: starts at $27.95 an Hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
2. Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
3. Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
4. Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
5. Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
6. Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
7. Maintain shop 5s policies and cleanliness

• Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass a Prove It test
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
