Job summary

Pilgrim's at the Cold Spring Plant in Minnesota is seeking a Station Mechanic for the day shift. The Maintenance Mechanic assists the maintenance department with plant upkeep and repairs; duties include repairing equipment, communicating with other mechanics, and supporting operator functions of machinery.

Two years’ maintenance experience is preferred. Must read, write and speak English, and be able to pass a test. Weekend work and strong mechanical aptitude are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools.
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
• Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 5s policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.
